You can catch them in Chicago at Jackson Park (180 trees) and their bloom period is only 6-14 days, so let's take full advantage and enjoy the fleeting beauty of Hanami (Japanese translation for flower viewing) Let's get together for a scenic bike ride along the beautiful Lakefront Trail (~11 miles) then end up at Jackson Park to view the Cherry Blossoms. We will also explore the Garden of the Phoenix - a serene Japanese garden with bonsai trees, waterfalls, galore ☺️ Itinerary: 🕚 10:00 AM – Meet-Up at Theater on the Lake - meet, mingle, etc, then we set off! ~ 11 miles of scenic lakeside views along the Chicago Lakefront Trail 🕛 11:00 AM ish – Arrive at Jackson Park | Walk & Picnic Feel free to also check out the Hanami Festival which will take place from 1:00 – 3:00 PM 📍 End Point: Jackson Park – Garden of the Phoenix What to bring: - Bike + Helmet - Plenty of h20 - Packed lunch (or at least snacks) - Optionally, bathing suit and towel - (we’ve been known to take a dip in the lake! 🙂
